2019 Major Pennant win semi and are into the Final

Published on 24th March 2019 in Uncategorised

The Monash Major Pennant team made the long trip to Macquarie Links to take on Massey Park in the semi-final. It was a very close match with a tense finish as Alex Henderson played the final hole 1up and closed out the win with a superb short iron to 6 feet which shut out his opponent.

The boys now play the Final next Sunday 31 March, commencing 11.15am at Terrey Hills Golf Club against Liverpool.

Individual scores: Nathan Barbieri won 5/4, Jordan Mackay won 7/5, Alex Henderson won 2up, Anthony Tan lost 2/1, Zac Telfer lost 2/1, Sunil Patel won 5/3 and Ryan McClelland lost 5/4.

Congratulations on making the final, now one more win to go. However, no matter the result the boys win today moves Monash Country Club up into Division 1 next year. Well done!!

Special mention to caddies who made the trip: Charlie Bolte, John Harrison, Glenn Breush, Brian Vegh, Danny Marshal, Sunil’s father and Graeme Inglis. Thank you also to members Tim Kamsler, Rod Fraser, Jackson Upton, Oli Hugil and Team Manager Kerry Mackay for their support at the course. And of course Nathan’s mum Kim, dad Ernie and grandfather Jack.

There is a great bond within the team and it would be great to have some additional Monash member support at Terrey Hills. Monash v Liverpool commences at 11.15am.
