Liam Sheils – Director of Golf<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Liam is the Director of Golf at Monash, where he leads the professional golf team and is dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for all members. He focuses on service, engagement, and team empowerment to create a welcoming and enjoyable golf environment.<\/p>\n

Originally from Ireland, Liam\u2019s passion for golf began as a child playing at Skerries Golf Club in Co. Dublin. He later worked at Roganstown Golf Club, experiences that laid the foundation for his career.<\/p>\n

In Australia, Liam completed a three-year PGA traineeship at Pennant Hills Golf Club before being promoted to Assistant Golf Professional. He then spent two years as Head Teaching Professional at Magenta Shores, gaining extensive experience in coaching, retail, and member services.<\/p>\n

Drawn to Monash by its strong culture and outstanding facilities, Liam is committed to enhancing the member experience and fostering meaningful connections with the club community.<\/p>\n

Away from the course, he enjoys spending time with his wife and young family and is a passionate supporter of the Canberra Raiders. Among his golfing highlights, Lahinch Golf Club in Ireland stands out as his favourite international course.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Kara Williams – PGA Associate<\/strong><\/h3>\n
\n

Kara started playing golf at the age of six and joined Avondale Golf Club a few years later where she has represented the club on numerous occasions whilst being on scholarship. Since then, Kara has been a part of the Golf NSW High Performance Squad which has seen her represent Australia at various events around the world.<\/p>\n

Her amateur career highlights include captaining the NSW School Girls team to victory and being a key member of two Major Pennant, Eric Apperley and Junior Pennant winning teams. Kara achieved the remarkable feat of clinching both the Junior and Ladies Club Championship titles within the same year in 2018.<\/p>\n

Following her high school graduation, Kara temporarily shifted her focus away from golf, and in 2023, she successfully earned her Psychology Degree from university. Looking ahead, Kara is now dedicated to embarking on a journey to become a PGA member. Her path begins with an associate membership with the PGA of Australia in 2024, with the aim of using this opportunity as a steppingstone towards realizing her dream of a career playing golf on the tour.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Matt Tierney – Corporate Golf Coordinator<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Matt Tierney is our new Corporate Golf Coordinator.<\/p>\n

Matt brings a strong background in golf administration, with particular expertise in MiClub systems, supporting efficient and high-quality club operations. He is also a fully qualified greenkeeper, providing him with a well-rounded understanding of both course and club management.<\/p>\n

Known for his professional approach, friendly manner, and strong communication skills, Matt is well equipped to build positive relationships with members, guests, and corporate partners.<\/p>\n

Matt is an accomplished golfer, having recently competed in major pennants and maintaining a low handicap, reflecting his commitment to the game and depth of experience within the industry.<\/p>\n

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Matt enjoys spending time with his partner, travelling on golf trips, and hosting weekend barbecues.<\/p>\n

Matt\u2019s combined technical expertise, industry experience, and personable approach will further strengthen our corporate golf offering and enhance the overall experience for members and guests alike.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Will Elliott – PGA Associate<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Will Elliott is a first-year PGA Associate Professional who has recently begun his journey toward becoming a Qualified Vocational Member of the PGA of Australia. With a natural passion for the game and a commitment to continuous improvement, Will is undertaking the PGA\u2019s three-year training program to develop his skills both on and off the course.<\/p>\n

Known for his outgoing and bubbly personality, Will brings energy and enthusiasm to everything he does. A talented golfer in his own right, he is especially recognised for his driving accuracy<\/p>\n

Will aspires to become a high-performance golf coach, with a strong focus on helping players maximise their potential and perform at their best. He takes great satisfaction in supporting golfers of all levels and contributing to their development.<\/p>\n

Away from the course, Will enjoys spending time with friends and going on golf trips with his family, further fueling his love for the game.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Torie Blakemore – Head Teaching Professional<\/strong><\/h3>\n
Torie an Australian born International PGA coach began his coaching journey under David Johnson in Ascot, UK. He is also former assistant to Greg Hohnen at Killara GC in Sydney.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Over his time Torie has been based at some of the world\u2019s most prestigious courses including Wentworth, Stoke Park and The Buckinghamshire. Most recently Torie has been based in Southern China running privately owned academies out of Shahe Golf Club, Shenzhen.<\/div>\n

With over two decades of coaching experience, Torie brings a wealth of passion and knowledge to his role at Monash Country Club. His expertise covers a wide range of areas including one-on-one lessons, club fitting & assessments, group coaching, and on-course instruction.<\/div>\n

Torie will also work with the Junior Program, ensuring a well-rounded golfing education throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Harry is a fully qualified PGA Professional with a strong focus on coaching and helping golfers of all levels improve their game.
