Face of Monash – Grant Howe

Published on 15th November 2018 in Uncategorised

How long have you been a member: 4 years

When did you start playing golf: I started at around 18 years of age but didn’t really get seriously into it until I joined Monash and was introduced into the club by Jeff Bliss.

Your first course: Manawatu Golf Club in Palmerston North New Zealand….Gods Country

Lowest handicap achieved so far: 6

Favourite hole on the course: 9th hole because it treats me well.

Best course outside of Monash that you have played: I was fortunate to get onto St Andrews Old Course. I had to get up at 3am and was the 8th person in-line for a start time.

Favourite Golfer of all time: Michael Campbell and Sir Bob Charles

Have you seen them play live: No.

What course in the world would you like to play: The TPC Stadium Course in Scottsdale

And your playing partners: Frank Nobilo, Sam Neil and Michael Jones.

Any funny stories at MCC: Watching Rob Hustler step into the mud in the bunker on 17th when it was a construction site and going up to his knees in mud. He obviously thought he had stepped into a soft spot because he proceeded to step in further with his other leg and ended up to his knees in mud of both legs. After 10 minutes and with ruined shoes he chose to abandon the ball….

The only other funny story was Ron Taylor refusing to wear the ‘bunny ears’.

Finish this sentence, “I love coming to Monash because….I really need the coaching I get from APD (Andrew Pritchard- Davies).
