Coronavirus – Letter from the President

Coronavirus

Update as of Monday March 16.

As you are well aware, the situation surrounding the Coronavirus is developing at a rapid and unprecedented pace. Your Board of Directors have met this morning and feels strongly that protecting the health and safety of our members and staff is our primary concern. Given the current state of emergency across the country your Board are in an ongoing review of how we operate over the coming weeks and months.

As a general principle your Board will follow the recommendations of Government and Health Authorities. Therefore if you have recently arrived in Australia from overseas, then, as at Monday 16 March you are unable to visit the club until expiry of a 14 day period of self-isolation.

The Board has approved the following effective immediately:

  • Members March Twilight Golf and Buffet dinner is cancelled.

  • Members April Twilight Golf and Buffet dinner is cancelled.

  • Members Masters Breakfast Postponed.

  • Easter Saturday BBQ is cancelled.

  • AGM Sunday 19 April is ON.

  • Mother’s Day lunch May 10 is cancelled

In addition the Board is encouraging the use of member card or credit card for all transactions rather than cash.

Let me be very clear, this decision does not affect member competition days or social play. It also does not prohibit you inviting a guest for golf and lunch, as long as your guest has followed the safety guidelines as we expect of our members.

The main bar and lunch facilities will remain open and we encourage you to continue to enjoy the Club for lunch or a drink before or after your golf.

For our part, our cleaners are wiping all surfaces, door handles etc. with hospital grade disinfectant. In addition our staff will also be vigilant in wiping down surfaces and door handles throughout the day with disinfectant. Where possible we are leaving clubhouse doors open throughout the day to both increase air flow and reduce the number of touch points in the club.

We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, heeding the advice of the Australian Government and Health Authorities, making any adjustments necessary that we feel are needed to protect the health of our members and staff.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we navigate this difficult and fluid situation.

When appropriate, we will communicate additional updates.
