GM UPDATE 5 May ‘Lottery booking system’

Published on 28th April 2020 in Uncategorised

The Club has recently moved to time-sheet ‘lottery ticketing’ commencing for Saturday’s timesheet 9 May. It is a more equitable booking experience than that what was previously on offer.

Most importantly the modified system prevents the use of multiple booking devices as they can only select ‘Join Draw’ once. Any other attempt to ‘Join Draw’ will be rejected. The server load will be substantially reduced as a result.

The modified system randomises the entry process for Members so each entrant has an equal chance to obtain a tee time on a heavily contested time-sheet.

A Member can access the fixture list from 6.45pm closing at 7pm, selects ‘Join Draw’ to get a ticket and waits for the clock to countdown. The draw closes 5 seconds before the time-sheet opens, and registered entrants are then randomised.

All entrants are then ordered for booking by the allocated ticket number they have received. Please note you are still able to book after the draw process as always. However those on the waitlist will take precedence.

The modified system has been enabled at more than 70 clubs in the last few days around Australia as they have faced similar situations where demand is exceeding the availability of booking slots.

Please see below steps to follow when using the modified system to make your booking:

  1. Login and Click ‘Join Draw’

PLEASE NOTE: A Member can access the fixture list up to 15 minutes prior to the scheduled opening of a time-sheet.

  1. Once the draw closes 5 seconds prior to the time-sheet opening, you will then be randomly allocated a ticket in the draw.
  2. You will be redirected to the booking page when your position reaches ZERO. Once you are on the booking page you can make your booking.

PLEASE NOTE You can also book your playing partner in even if they are further behind the queue.

Importantly if you do not able to get a booking, please enter your name on the waitlist. If you fail to get a game that week we will prioritise those members to the following week. We do not want members missing out 2 weeks in a row.

Please reach out to your ProShop Team with any questions about this process and I thank you all for your continued support and patience as we manage our way through the current pandemic.
