Club Captain email to members 5 May

There is still much frustration amongst the members with regards to getting a tee time and while the majority of members have been very accommodating, it has been disappointing to hear members have vented their frustration at the staff.

Importantly and commencing with the sheet to be released for this Saturday we will be implementing the lottery system which is the fairest of all mi-club booking systems and does not reward those members who have superior internet speed or are fastest to click.

An email from the GM will follow on how the system will operate. Please note due to lack of times members will still miss out on a game. However, if your name is on the waitlist and you miss a game you will receive priority for the following week. We do not want members missing two weeks in a row.

Please note the booking limits we have introduced still apply.

The traditionally busy days of Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday still have very substantial demand issues. I again plead with members who are retired or currently not working or not at school etc to avoid the weekends if at all possible to allow fellow members who can only play on weekends to get a game.

In order to assist further, the management and Match & Greens Committee are looking at other alternatives which may include:

* Members to book themselves only

* Further reduction in maximum games per week

I thank members for their positive comments on the condition of the golf course. Members are also to be congratulated on the round times which have been between 3 hours and 3 hours 45, which is acceptable given the numbers we are putting through on course. The introduction of the pool noodles in the hole has prevented many of the lip-outs that were occurring.

Comments from both Federal and NSW governments indicate a possible easing of outdoor gathering restrictions as early as this Friday allowing a return to playing in four’s. We do not expect that relaxation of restrictions will allow us to return to two tee starts for some time yet.
