2020 Major Pennant Final information
Published on 2nd December 2020 in UncategorisedFor only the 3rd time in the history of our club we have made the final of the Men’s Division 1 Major Pennant. This is a tremendous achievement following our win in Division 2 last year. Monash won in 2000 and runners up in 2001.
Our team will be chosen from the squad consisting of: Jordan Mackay, Nathan Barbieri, Doug Cullam, Sunil Patel, Danny Marshall, Michael Eksteen, Olli Hugill, Zac Telfer, Jesse De Rooy and Ryan McClelland.
The Finals of all Major Pennant Divisions are played together. Monash v St Michaels commences at 12.30pm. We cannot tell you how good a day it is watching the top amateur men and women play matchplay under the most tense circumstances you can imagine. The Women’s Division 1 final is between Concord and The Australian commencing at 11.45am.
We are certainly the underdogs in our match versus St Michaels who boast three State players at the top of their list. They have won the Division 1 Major Pennant 10 times in their club’s history.
However we saw in the State of Origin anything can happen, with the favourites NSW soundly beaten.
Although the match is out at Riverside Oaks, if you can attend to support the boys and the club, please come out you will not be disappointed in the golf you witness and your support would be appreciated.
