Note from Club Captain Jeff Bliss

Published on 12th September 2021 in Uncategorised

Hello Members,

Late on Saturday 11 September, Golf NSW advised a variation to the restrictions relating to golf as follows.

From Monday, September 13th, fully vaccinated persons only may play golf in groups of four. Persons not vaccinated may continue to play in groups of two.

Monash CC will not be reverting to playing in groups of four at this time.

There is currently no robust or reliable system to check the vaccine status of members of Monash or the members of the numerous other clubs in current reciprocal arrangements.

However, there are systems being developed both by the Club’s golf management software provider (Miclub) and the State government agencies.

We will continue to review the position with a view to returning to golf in fours when practicable.

I would like to remind all members of the General Managers email of 3 September which included in part the following to prepare for further easing of restrictions which are now anticipated mid October.

In an effort to be prepared for these potential changes and to avoid a last minute rush and hence member disappointment, we would request all current playing members who have had both vaccination shots, to email their vaccination certificate, or print off a copy and drop same into the office during office hours Monday to Friday. Please email your certificate to Helen Jackson finance@monashcc.com.au or John Harrison gm@monashcc.com.au.

The language from the Premier clearly articulates that the easing of restrictions, which will allow all our members to play at Monash will only apply to those members who are fully vaccinated.

The club will as always strictly observe the Health Orders as decreed.

Lets get to 70% and have Monash back for the great majority of members as soon as possible.

Regards

Jeff Bliss

Captain
