Monash Ladies Charity Day 2023
Published on 2nd June 2023 in UncategorisedThe annual Monash CC Women’s Charity Day was held on May 23rd. The day arrived with a clear blue sky and 127 intrepid golfers went out for the shotgun start in the crisp morning air.
The winning team on the day was Mi Ae Moon, Jean Park, Sunny Cho and Cassie Lee, and a group of ladies from Pymble (Lisa Banducci, Alison Finnegan, Cathi Brown and Edwina Pierce) took out the honours for the best all visitor team.
We raised over $17,000 for Lighthouse which we know will go directly towards helping women and families in crisis. We would like to acknowledge the contribution of our silver sponsor Pharmacare, and would also like to acknowledge the generosity of many of our members in particular: Adam Browne, Toby Browne, Ken Murphy, Rod Holmes, Kerry Gadsby, Brenda Layden, Fiona Trew, Wendy Farrow, Veronica Thomas, Leslie Parsonage, Marika Jones, Esther Green, Jeff Bliss, Liz Whittaker, Jen Berry, Col Hallinan, Brian Kabalan and Sean McGuiness.
Our thanks go to these members for their sponsorship and donation of prizes for the raffle and silent auctions. Without your support the day would not have been so successful. A special mention must go to John Harrison who completely broke all records getting vouchers from golf clubs in the greater Sydney region and donated his time – one lucky member will have a chipping lesson with John!
The committee would like to thank John, Helen and Mel in the office, Dan, Jono and Kara in the Proshop, Head Chef Steve and his hospitality team who produced a scrumptious lunch and morning tea that received much praise from members and guests. Your efforts made the day run seamlessly. Thank you also to Jean Park for the beautiful flower arrangements in the ladies’ locker room.
Finally, we would like to thank all the members who supported us by playing on the day, bringing friends, buying raffle tickets and bidding on the silent auctions!
