Mixed Pennant team ends season on a high note

Monash’s Mixed Pennant team (team photo at the bottom of the article) took to the course on Sunday for its final game in what has proven to be a very tough season. Opponents Asquith GC were still in the hunt for a place in the quarter finals and, from the very start, were fired up to repeat their victory over us from a few weeks ago. However, Monash had other ideas!

Unfortunately, Stella and Young Kwon were defeated in the reserve match by a close margin of 2&1, whilst Jody and Yoram Drutman came up against a very tough pairing, losing out on the 14th green.

Meanwhile, in match 5, Eileen Rodwell and David Biviano eased to a very comfortable 4&3 victory, whilst Young Kim and Nick Glover saw their opponents off in style with a resounding 6&5 win.

The final two games saw Anne May and Glenn Hooker ease home safely by 5&4, whilst Team Manager, Jacqui Dawber, partnering son Gareth for the first time, completed the Monash victory with a win on the 14th.

All in all, it was a bitter sweet ending for this year’s competition but we look forward to next season when we hope to fly the Monash flag high again.
