VALE – Paul Mendels passed away aged 96

Our longest serving member of 67 years, Paul Mendels passed away this morning Friday 21 June at 96 years of age. Paul had been unable to play recently as he could no longer drive to the course. We celebrated the 50+ years of Membership dinner last Saturday evening with Paul being a late withdrawal, phoning on Friday from his hospital bed to say he had a “slight mishap”.

Paul joined Monash on the 3rd of March, 1957. He was an absolute gentleman, and loved being at Monash playing with his mates.

The funeral will be held at Rookwood Cemetery, 1pm this Sunday, Section 24A, Plot 5, Row L.
