How long have you played Golf? Played socially as a teenager at Cammeray, Balgowlah and Northbridge Golf Clubs. Whilst at Sydney Uni I met 3 like minded golfers in my year in Medicine – we used to ring golf clubs and say we were the university golf team and could we have a game?….got onto Royal Sydney, NSW & Bonnie Doon – what a hoot!
How long have you been a member – Since 1990 – moved back from Nambucca Heads in 1989 – joined Asquith then met Albert Lam through doctors golf days and he introduced me to the Club – thanks Albert!
What made you choose Monash? – Living on the northside of Sydney , Monash always had the best reputation – then I met Albert Lam.
What course were you first a member – Nambucca Head Island Golf Club about 1982 – first handicap 23,soon got it down to about 9.
Lowest handicap you have achieved so far – 4 – held it for about 3 months but was too hard..
Favourite hole on the course – 13th hole – just a classic hole – can easily have a 3 and easily have a 7. A great looking hole.
Best course outside of Monash that you have played – The Ocean Course, Kiawah Island South Carolina and Jacks Point, Queenstown, NZ
Favorite golfer of all time – Arnold Palmer, fantastic charisma and a true gentleman.
If you could play any course in the world what would it be – Augusta National – where else?
And could you name 3 people you’d like to join you on this dream day – Arnie, Seve, Tom Pritchard-Davies …pick the chopper in the group ! 🙂
Funny stories of your time as a Member of Monash? – Michael Berecry being presented with his second remote control for his electric buggy at The Dunes, Mornington Peninsula , after Maurie Segedin had been making his buggy do very strange things for the previous 2 months by having his second remote that Michael knew nothing about – GOLD!!
Finish this sentence “I love coming to Monash because…“of the serenity – yes the serenity….great place to escape the ratbag world”.
