16th wood chip piles GUR
Published on 15th March 2023 in UncategorisedAttention Members,
After the planned removal of trees on the 16th hole, you might have noticed the piles of wood chips pictured below. Course Superintendent, Rob Sain, has arranged for contractors to spread the wood chips next week, however in the meantime, if your ball lands in that area, please refer to the following guidelines.
The wood chips are piled for removal and are deemed Ground Under Repair, which relief may be taken under the rule 16.1 (below).
Rule 16. Abnormal Course Conditions (Including Immovable Obstructions)
When Relief Is Allowed
(1) Meaning of Interference by Abnormal Course Condition. Interference exists when any one of these is true:
- The player’s ball touches or is in or on an abnormal course condition,
- An abnormal course condition physically interferes with the player’s area of intended stance or area of intended swing,
- Ball Not Found but in Abnormal Course Condition
The player may take free relief under Rule 16.1 using the estimated point where the ball last crossed the edge of the abnormal ground condition.
