Deepak Jallipalli – Golf Operations Manager

Deepak born in India, played and found his passion for golf in his junior golf competition days by travelling and golfing around his home country. Deepak has been involved in golf for over 16 years and his passion has grown from a young age after being taught by several coaches over the years. Deepak understands what it takes to improve technically, psychologically and physically over trial and error in his own game. He has been working in golf industry over 8 years in Australia, and commenced his employment at Monash CC in 2020. 

Deepak is very passionate about teaching and helping golfers improve their game to make it  more enjoyable. He believes golf is a complex sport that needs to be taught in a simple way  mostly involving on course tuition, learning how to score on both good and bad days. 

Deepak’s passion and understanding of the game, lets him cater his teaching methods according to his clients skill levels. His theory is “Any level of golfer can improve by working on the right fundamentals”.

   

Torie Blakemore – Head Teaching Professional

Torie an Australian born International PGA coach began his coaching journey under David Johnson in Ascot, UK. He is also former assistant to Greg Hohnen at Killara GC in Sydney.
 
Over his time Torie has been based at some of the world’s most prestigious courses including Wentworth, Stoke Park and The Buckinghamshire. Most recently Torie has been based in Southern China running privately owned academies out of Shahe Golf Club, Shenzhen.
 
With over two decades of coaching experience, Torie brings a wealth of passion and knowledge to his role at Monash Country Club. His expertise covers a wide range of areas including one-on-one lessons, club fitting & assessments, group coaching, and on-course instruction.

Torie’s responsibilities will extend beyond individual coaching as he takes on the exciting challenge of creating member development programs. These programs will be designed to guide and support members in achieving their golfing objectives. Torie will also work with the Junior Program, alongside Nathan & Kara, ensuring a well-rounded golfing education throughout the year.

Torie’s enthusiastic and dedicated approach to teaching makes him a valuable addition to our team. His determination to enhance the golfing journey for our members is clear, and he is eagerly looking forward to making a positive impact with members. 

 

   
   

Nathan Cooke – Associate Professional

Nathan Cooke, a 28-year-old from Mangrove Mountain, North of Sydney, who grew up riding horses on a property with my parents.

Nathan lives in Terrigal on the Central Coast with his partner Alexandra. My grandfather Barry Cooke, a long-term member of Gordon Golf Club, inspired me to take up golf at Mangrove Mountain Golf Club.

I recently completed a year at the PGA Performance Program in Sandhurst, Melbourne, and worked my way down to a handicap of scratch. As a 2nd year PGA Associate Professional Nathan has a passion for playing and teaching up and coming juniors.  

   
 

Kara Williams – Associate Professional 

Kara started playing golf at the age of six and joined Avondale Golf Club a few years later where she has represented the club on numerous occasions whilst being on scholarship. Since then, Kara has been a part of the Golf NSW High Performance Squad which has seen her represent Australia at various events around the world.

Her amateur career highlights include captaining the NSW School Girls team to victory and being a key member of two Major Pennant, Eric Apperley and Junior Pennant winning teams. Kara achieved the remarkable feat of clinching both the Junior and Ladies Club Championship titles within the same year in 2018.

Following her high school graduation, Kara temporarily shifted her focus away from golf, and in 2023, she successfully earned her Psychology Degree from university. Looking ahead, Kara is now dedicated to embarking on a journey to become a PGA member. Her path begins with an associate membership with the PGA of Australia in 2024, with the aim of using this opportunity as a steppingstone towards realizing her dream of a career playing golf on the tour.

   

Adam Groom – PGA Professional 

Adam grew up on the Northern Beaches and started playing golf when he was 7 years old. He became a junior at Monash at 17. After winning the Monash Masters, Club Championship and Major Pennant, he then captained the NSW men’s state team and was selected in numerous teams to play for Australia, including the Eisenhower Trophy.

After competing internationally and finishing 5th as an Amateur in the NZ Open (beating Tiger Woods) and reaching world No 2 in the US Golfweek Amateur world rankings, at the end of 2002 Adam turned professional.

As a Touring Professional for Monash, in his first year Adam was awarded “Rookie of the Year” on the Asian Tour after finishing 14th on the Order of Merit. Adam has played on many of the major tours but spent much of his career on the European and Asian Tours. He recorded two second place finishes on the Asian Tour and numerous top 10’s on both tours, including the BMW in Shanghai and Italian Open. Adam also competed in the 2007 British Open and held a tour card overseas for 14 years.

Since retiring from the Asian Tour, Adam’s passion has shifted to coaching and spending more time at Monash sharing his knowledge with members and juniors. Adam also loves taking other keen golfers on unique and tailored golfing trips.

Adam has played with some of the world’s best golfers and brings a wealth of golfing experience to his coaching.
